Terms

Terms of Service

Last updated October 9, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Ali U., who operates Volte. They apply when you create an account, connect a vehicle, or use the app. By doing any of those things you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use Volte.

They include an arbitration clause and a class action waiver, which affect how disputes are resolved. You can opt out of arbitration within 30 days. See "Disputes" below.

What Volte is

Volte connects to your Tesla through Tesla's official Fleet API and lets you see your car, send commands, schedule charging and climate, receive alerts, and read reports about your driving and charging. Volte is an independent companion app. It is not made, sponsored or endorsed by Tesla, and it does not replace the Tesla app. Tesla can change or withdraw its API at any time, which may change or break parts of Volte.

Your account and your car

Commands are best effort, and safety is yours

Volte sends requests to Tesla, which relays them to your car. A command can be delayed, refused or silently dropped when the car is asleep, parked underground, out of coverage, updating its software, or when Tesla's API is unavailable. A command that appears to have been sent has not necessarily been carried out.

Do not rely on Volte for anything where a failed or delayed command would be unsafe or costly. That includes climate control for a person or animal left in a vehicle, unlocking as your only way into the car, and charging you must have finished by a particular time. Always check the car.

Alerts are best effort too. Volte learns what your car is doing by checking it every few minutes, so an alert can arrive late, and some events, such as Sentry alarms, are not available to Volte at all. Your phone, your browser, and the Apple, Google or Mozilla services that deliver notifications can also delay or drop one. Do not rely on a Volte alert, or the absence of one, to know that a person, an animal or the car is safe.

Cost figures are estimates

Volte cannot see what a charger actually bills you. Every cost in the app is calculated from the price per kWh you enter and from the energy your car reports as having reached its battery. A charger meters more than that at the plug, because some energy is lost in charging, so a real bill usually runs higher. Idle fees, session fees, connection fees, taxes and demand charges are not included. Treat every figure in Volte as an estimate for your own planning, not as a bill, an invoice, or a record for tax or reimbursement.

Plans and payments

Availability and changes

Volte depends on Tesla's services, your car's connectivity, your network and your device. Volte is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We do not guarantee it will be available, accurate, uninterrupted or error free. We may add, change or remove features, and we may suspend or end the service with reasonable notice.

Your data

The Privacy Policy explains what Volte collects, where it is stored and how long it is kept. It is part of these terms. In short: Volte keeps a copy of your vehicle readings, including location, on its servers, and with your permission records your car in the background. You can disconnect the car or delete everything from Settings at any time.

Acceptable use

Do not use Volte to access a vehicle you are not authorized to use, to track or monitor another person, to interfere with or overload Tesla's services or ours, to reverse engineer or resell the service, or to break the law. We may suspend or close accounts that do.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Volte is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits or lost data. This includes damage to a vehicle, a depleted or unfinished charge, a missed departure, a towing or idle fee, or anything else arising from a command that failed, was delayed, or was carried out differently than you expected, and from any reliance on the estimates described above. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for Volte in the 12 months before the claim, or $50. Some states do not allow these limits, in which case they apply to you only as far as that state permits.

Disputes

We would much rather sort a problem out directly, so please email us first and give us 30 days to put it right.

If that does not resolve it, you and we agree that any dispute will be settled by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, rather than in court, and that neither of us may bring a class, collective or representative action. There is no judge or jury in arbitration, and review of an arbitrator's decision is limited.

Two exceptions: either of us may bring an individual claim in small claims court instead, and either of us may seek an injunction in court to stop misuse of the service or of intellectual property.

You can opt out of arbitration. Email us at the address below within 30 days of first accepting these terms, saying that you opt out of arbitration and giving the email address on your account. Opting out costs you nothing and changes nothing else about your account; disputes then go to the courts named below.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Where a dispute goes to court rather than arbitration, it belongs in the state or federal courts located in Dallas County, Texas, and we each consent to their jurisdiction.

Ending the service

You can stop using Volte and delete your account at any time from Settings. We may end or suspend your access if you breach these terms, or end the service generally with reasonable notice. The sections on liability, disputes and your data survive the end of your account.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a meaningful way we will show a notice in the app and update the date above. Continuing to use Volte after a change means you accept it. If you do not, delete your account.
